ZOOM BFX-708/GFX-707

An effect should enhance the players performance. That has always been the ZOOM vision.
However, we have witnessed technological advances that are so complicated that they can actually deprive players of the pleasure of creating sound. In recent years, what appears to be a rebound from the over-reliance on digital technology, there has been a return to a more simplified approach to music creation. The stomp box offers simple operation however lacks variety. Most multi-effect processors are convenient but take hours to create sounds. Until now, no processor has combined the best of both worlds. Convenience and ease of operation is the focus of the new GFX-707.

  • The "HYBRID" Sound
Zoom's HYBRID DISTORTION combines analog and digital circuits which can produce extreme variations in tone, gain and saturation. DSP technology has improved over the years, and input from our users and endorsers, has helped to enhance all standard and advanced .

  • The "HYBRID" Size
As long as the functions and quality are not compromised, smaller is better. However, due to the size of feet and hands, there is a limit to how small the interface can be made. The HYBRID size features two large pedal switches, an expression/volume pedal, multiple control knobs and edit keys. These "easy edit" controls provide intuitive operation, so that players who are used to stomp boxes don't have to change the way they interact with their effects.

  • The "HYBRID" writing tool
A rhythm machine and an effect processor? It seems like a weird combination, but rhythm is critical for musicians, so ZOOM believes this to be an absolutely essential function. It is difficult to get into a groove using only a metronome. However, writing and practice becomes a pleasure when sessions are done with this high quality built in drum machine, cultivated from the RhythmTrak series. Also, the phrase sampling function is vital for practice of difficult passages. A new feature called JAM PLAY allows you to sample a phrase and play it forwards, backwards and at different tempos.

  • The "HYBRID" performance tool
The GFX-707 features a large LED display that is easy to read from a distance, detailed design of the expression pedal, from stroke to durability; auto-chromatic tuner with improved note recognition speed, JAM PLAY and easy edit controls.

  • Features
Operation with an Analog Feel Three edit knobs enable the user to adjust effect parameters with analog simplicity. Also, the optimum parameters are assigned to these knobs during play mode, so you are able to adjust the tone easily, even during performance.

  • Built-in Expression Pedal
The rugged optical expression pedal can control numerous effect parameters including volume, pedal wah, and distortion gain. You can also use this pedal for controlling on/off of the effect modules and for scratch playback of JAM PLAY.

  • Large Display
The LED display is easy to read clearly even in low light conditions. For editing, you can create sounds logically because each parameter is displayed as it is being adjusted.

  • Real Sound Rhythm Functions
45 preset rhythm patterns are provided by the PCM samples developed for the RhythmTrak series. With 45 rhythm patterns, you have an instant writing or training tool. While practicing, you will be able to refine your technique and sense of rhythm in a way not experienced with metronomes.

  • Internal Phrase Sampler
With the built-in phrase sampler you can record up to six seconds of CD or cassette tape recordings and then playback those phrases. Playback can be reduced to half speed without changing the pitch.

  • Amp Simulator Knob
Independent of the patch settings, you can always make quick adjustments to the final sound with the amp simulator knob. Simulation characteristics include amp size, type and level control for connection to a mixer or amplifier.

  • A Wide Variety of Effects
48 types of effects are provided, and up to nine can be used simultaneously. With the GFX-707, the distortion effect uses an analog-digital hybrid circuit producing a natural, smooth sound with many overtones.
  • JAM PLAY Effect Makes the Difference in Live Performance
The jam play feature enables you to record and play back phrases up to two seconds long during performance by utilizing on board foot switches. You can play your own riffs and use the expression pedal for scratch playback or even reverse playback for simulated reverse backwards tape effects.
  • Auto-chromatic Tuner
The auto-chromatic tuner has been optimized for guitar, with improved note recognition.
  • Patch Memory
The effect combinations and settings can be stored as patches that can be instantly recalled. There are 60 preprogrammed patches (30 preset, and 30 user), letting you enjoy a diverse range of sounds.
  • Power Supply Options
You can use either four AA batteries (optional), or an PSU (AD-0006, optional accessory). Alkaline batteries provide approximately 14 hours of continuous use.
